Norwich Home Football Shirt

Come on Norwich fans, lets be having you on your new shirts. OK, that was an awful joke but the Canaries distinctive yellow and green are always a great starting point to create a unique design. How do the latest efforts weigh up?

World Football Shirts Review: The home shirt isn’t awful but not really to my tastes. It has a quite rigid material that isn’t particularly comfortable. The green segments are perhaps to big and there isn’t enough yellow on the shirt itself. The collar is round and nothing flashy but a popular choice for a large majority of kits. Overall, I’d say this kit could have been a lot better simply by losing the substantial green blotches and opting for a less is more approach.

The red away shirt is a nice effort. It shows that with one strong colour and simple piping a lot can be achieved. The sharp white lines are a nice touch and will hopefully inspire the Canaries to a few away wins.

Comparison Rating: The home shirt is a step back from previous attempts, but the red away kit is a refined effort much better than the white shirt that came before it.

Shirt Information: Norwich City shirts are produced by Zara which is interesting as they’re not really a sports label. Top marks for stepping outside the box, but the home shirt smacks of fashion over function and is far to fussy. It will be interesting to see what they do next if Zara retains the right to manufacture and high street fashion continues to meet the football kit. The home shirt expires at the end of the 07/08 season but the red shirt it new for
this year so will probably be around in some form until the beginning of the 09/10 season.
